The presence of arsenic in groundwater is both naturally occurring and/or the result of contamination associated with agricultural and industrial practices. Severe human health effects have been observed in populations that are exposed to persistent arsenic in ground waters destined for potable and drinking water applications. Industrial and manufacturing processes utilizing the ground waters which containing arsenic and need to address treatment as it relates to the in-fluent, recycle and reuse requirements.
Naturally many compounds occurs in arsenic, and removing those from water is a very difficult task. So it is important to choosing the right technique for arsenic removal and essential to know what kind of other materials are present in the water, so a complete water analysis can be prescribed.
One of the best method is to use of a catalytic arsenic removal filtering media, such as GEH; GEH is a high-capacity adsorber originally developed for the economic and effective removal of arsenic in the treatment of water. It is pure, synthetic iron hydroxide with high adsorption capacity for arsenic. This treatment systems can remove at least 90 % of arsenic from water and do not release any harmful substances into the treated water and also do not alter its pH value.
